The Preschool at Kent Place School

Our Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten programs admit boys and girls ages three to five. Our accomplished teachers capitalize on children’s boundless curiosity, directing their exuberance into academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. In this warm and caring community, we help each child develop a strong framework to build on in Kindergarten, in primary school, and through a lifetime of learning. The Nursery, which is for three- and four-year-olds, meets Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pre-Kindergarten, which is for four- and five-year-olds, meets Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Students bring lunch from home to eat in the classroom Monday through Thursday. By September 1 of the year that a child will begin attending, a Nursery applicant must be three years old and a Pre-Kindergarten applicant must be four years old.

We do our best to select applicants who are similar in their developmental stages and their readiness for our program. After submitting your application with the $70 application fee, call the Admission Office to schedule a parent visit and the applicant’s screening date. Children visit the classroom and are observed in their play and social interactions. Applicants for Pre-Kindergarten should ask the child's current teacher to complete the Teacher Evaluation Form and submit it to the Admission Office between December 1 and February 1.

We host Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten open houses throughout the year. We are also happy to schedule individual tours.
